The PYM Editorial Calendar: Key to Blogging Success

by Chris Donaldson on November 2, 2009

I fell off the editorial calendar bandwagon a while back. As I’ve said before, I believe the editorial calendar to be one of the most important aspects of creating a sustainable blog. It provides a framework for the week, and this structure makes it easier to decide topics for the week. So I’m going with the following:

  1. Mondays: General Marketing/Open Forum - Discuss any topic that relates to marketing.
  2. New Tools Tuesday: Review new tools that might help the marketing cause.
  3. Wednesday Review: Give an update on any programs I’m using. Right now, that would be the 30 Day Challenge.
  4. Thursdays: Open Forum.
  5. Follow Fridays: Recommendations of movers and shakers in the space.
  6. Saturday: Viral video of the Week.
  7. Sunday: Day of Rest. This is when I practice walking on water. So far so good.

This sort of structure is imperative - and applies not just to blogging but just about anything that’s worth pursuing. What’s your roadmap?
