Marketing: The Challenge of Saying ‘Hello!’
We’ve all been hesitant at one time or another to introduce ourselves. ‘Hello’ can be a hard word. That’s where PimpYourMarketing is right now. Standing on the opposite wall at the Junior High School dance, a bit tentative, a bit new. Knowing that first impressions are everything. Knowing also, that all good things take time.
So here the site is in the .com Wild West. Where gunslingers regularly blast holes in old business and marketing models, invent new ones on the fly, and reach thousands if not millions with the touch of a button. Sound simple? It’s not.
That’s where inspirational marketing comes in. But PimpYourMarketing might be different. It might be unique. Hopefully it will help you in your journey to understand some of the newest stuff online to help you market. What this blog will do is outline and follow my journey in discovering the best ways to market - not just online but offline as well - in print, radio, and TV. Skywriting is not out of the question. And no, I’m not one of those ‘Pros’ who claims to have the answers, but I am Marketing Director at an entertainment company, I do have experience launching a DOT COM (RadicalMail), and I have been keeping my ear fairly close to the ground to try to understand the best ways to get the word out. So I will have some answers. But more likely, I will have questions - and we might be able to answer those questions together. We’ll see how the journey goes.
So whether you’re a small biz looking for a place to start or a major player, I’m hoping this blog helps us both. You’re at the front end of the journey and I have no idea where it will lead. And by making it better, we can take the first step towards a strong ‘hello’.
